View the Security Roles and Security Groups for a particular User
Introduction
You are able to check which Users have a specific Security Role or Security Group assigned to them.
You are also able to check which Security Roles and Security Groups have been assigned to a specific User.
If you wish to assign more Security Roles to a User, refer to Assign Security Roles to Users.
View which Users have a particular Security Role
To view which Users have been assigned to any particular Security Role:
- Start at Administration (or Settings) > Security Roles.
- Double click on the Security Role you wish to view.
- Click the Users tab.
This will display all Users who have this Security Role assigned to them.
If the Security Role has been applied via a Security Group, the name of that Security Group will also be displayed.
View which Users have a particular Security Group
To view which Users have been assigned to any particular Security Group:
- Start at Administration (or Settings) > Security Group.
- Double click on the Security Group you wish to view.
- Click the Users tab.
This will display all Users who have this Security Group assigned to them.
View the Security Roles and Security Groups for a particular User
To view which Security Roles and Security Groups that have been assigned to any particular User:
- Go to Administration (or Settings) > Users
- Double click on the User you wish to view.
- Click the Security tab.
This will display all Security Roles and Security Groups that have been assigned to this User.
Security Groups are shown with the Type SG, and Security Roles are shown with the Type SR. You can sort the displayed list by Type or Code, by clicking on the column heading.
Security Roles may be inherited from an Access Persona or Security Group, in which case that will appear in the Inherited from column.
NOTE: If a Security Role has been inherited from an Access Persona, a Security Group or from the fact that the User is Staff or a Time Sheet User then the Security Role will show that it has been inherited, and may not be removable from the Security tab for the User. In that case the Access Persona or Security Group must be removed, or the User must be flagged as inactive for Staff or Time Sheet User. The inherited status will be shown against any Security Role that has been inherited.
